Freshmen at ISOWA

As the new fiscal year has begun, we had 8 students join ISOWA.

When freshmen start working, they are provided with a personal helmet, but theirs look a little different from others’.

What’s the difference?

It’s a yellow strap!

The reason they are wearing this is so that other people can easily perceive where freshmen are in the workshop and keep an eye for their safety.

In this helmet with a strap, they are working very hard on their 3-month training program.

At the end of the day, they have a review meeting.

In this meeting, they share with each other what they learned, what mistakes they made and why that happened, and get advice from their boss and seniors so that they can do better the next day.

At ISOWA, so many people are involved in human resource development more or less like this.

We may have built our history, but they are our future.

It’s my biggest happiness seeing them grow day by day.

Good luck to you all!

New fiscal year has begun!

April came and the new fiscal year has just begun for us.

Last week, right before it started, we shared the yearly goals with the whole company.
Numerical goals change every year, but “Zero Accident” is always at the top of the list.

Even one accident is one too many as we are committed to protect the employees and their families.

We also had some personnel and organizational changes.

Every person who got promoted was given a mic and asked for a comment.

Their words were just so strong and powerful. Now it’s time to act out.

Of course, we decided to make those changes to achieve the goals above. But there’s more required.

“Build up cross-departmental/generational relationships and gather everyone’s thoughts.”

That’s our slogan for this year and it is how we make innovations happen.

Followed by these announcements, the commendation of the Invention Award was taken place.

It’s great as it is that they got the awards, but what makes it even greater is the fact that most of them are still in their twenties or early thirties.

Although I’m over 60 now and won’t be able to work with them so long, I can see our bright future with the young generation coming up.

Now we’re a few days into the new year.
We just started out right as the manufacturing slots for 2017-2018 are getting filled steadily.

We will focus on keeping this up and ending the year right.

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you who are reading this from abroad along the way!

ISOWA Family Open House

If you subscribe ISOWA NEWS LETTER, you may have read about this, but for those who dont, I would like to introduce our Family Open House held last December.

Family Open House is a once in a few years event where we invite employees families to the office.

As the map shows, there were a lot of fun stuff going on all over the place.

The biggest purpose of mine was to talk to as many families as possible.

That is why I spent most of the time standing at the reception.

One of the major contents of Family Open House was machine exhibition.
We let the kids push the
Feed button and run the machine as an operator.

These four are definitely the first kids to operate a 450sheets/min printer!

We should probably apply for the Guinness Record!

When the exhibition was over, applause arose out of nowhere.
It was one of the best moments in this event.

Now that the machine exhibition is done, it
s time for bingo!

The office is flooded with the families.

They look a little serious and nervous because they are about to play bingo for gift cards!

Freshmen were designated to organize the bingo session, and they really did a great job.

Look how happy they made the kids and families!

Even for those who didnt get a gift card, they prepared a consolation prize.

Seeing the employees and their families enjoy and laugh, there was nothing more I could ask for.

I would like to give a huge thanks to the families who came to join us and especially to all who worked real hard to make this successful!

I cannot wait for the next Family Open House already!
